Things that make you go hmmmm???? by Tina Marie

Date Night ???
June 18 , 2008
How did you spend time together when you fell in love? How often did you go out when you were dating? It's time to start dating again....dating your spouse. Date night can work magic for your marriage.

There are some that say you need to get out of the house; no movies or entertainment that require you to face in the same direction; don't invite anyone else or attend a social function and schedule at least a couple of hours.

That's all cool. However, my husband and I love to cook. So our date night is sharing the prepping, cooking, serving, lots of wonderful conversation and a bottle of wine on the deck. Just the two of us, no TV, friends or family. It's perfect. Our gift to each other is the gift of time and undivided attention.

How do you spend date night? There are no right or wrong answers.  It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality. Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser and kinder each day.

Are We All Family Sharing The Same Home???
April 22, 2008
Family
Is it your mom, dad, brothers and sisters? Or teammates and friends too? Is it only those with whom we share blood or kindred spirits as well? Are we all family?
Home
Is it walls and a roof? Or simply being with someone you love? Is it a place or a feeling? Is it all of Earth and the Universe? Are we all sharing the same home?

What does family and home represent to you? There are no right or wrong answers.  It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality. Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser and kinder each day.

Every Moment Is An Opportunity...
November 11, 2007

Every day choose to awake with a smile and feel loving gratitude for the glorious gift of a new beginning. Every day choose to be kinder, less judgmental and more forgiving, of yourself and all others.
Every day choose to shine the light of your spirit brightly and trust in its wisdom to guide you.
Although this may be a challenge on some days, it is nonetheless within your power….always.
Every day choose happiness.

What did you choose today?  How are your choices influenced by others choices?  And vise versa?  There are no right or wrong answers.  It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality. Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser and kinder each day.

Meditation
July 30, 2007

Stepping away from the noisy locker room to seek a quiet place where you prepare your mind for the game. While in your favorite chair, where you briefly sit in silence each morning, breathing in the new day.
Momentarily pausing, bringing your thoughts to the photos of your family securely tucked into your helmet, pushing the sounds of gunfire that surround you from mind.
While being led in reflection at your place of worship.
Just before you enter the boardroom for your big presentation.

When at your child’s bedside, just after tucking them in for the night, as they lay peacefully at rest. Throughout your yoga class or during a therapeutic massage when your body is completely relaxed, feeling free of stress.
Is meditation a spiritual or religious thing?  According to “Merriam-Webster” to meditate is to engage in contemplation or reflection; to engage in mental exercise (as concentration on one’s breathing or repetition of a mantra) for the purpose of reaching a heightened level of spiritual awareness; to focus one’s thoughts on: reflect on or ponder over; to plan or project in the mind.

There are no right or wrong answers to how we each define meditation.  It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality. Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser and kinder each day.

It Is Yours…
April 11,2007

As you stand on the shore, Eyes closed, stance wide,
Arms open to welcome the unknown, Trying to steady your breathing
In anticipation of the wild wave swiftly approaching.
Give yourself to it. Completely and unconditionally.
No boundaries.  No restraints.
Feel its freedom. Feel its spirit.
For with it’s whoosh….it also bring peace, calm and love.
It is yours. Yours to hold. Yours to revel within.
No boundaries.  No restraints.
All you have to do is have faith and trust it…

What is your “wild wave”.  Or is it a who?  Or a where?  There are no right or wrong answers.  It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality. Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser and kinder each day.

True Happiness????????
January 25, 2007

The embrace of someone you love…
Winning the game or being in “First Place”…
With prayerful words and spiritual reflection in that quiet place…
Having enough money that you do not have to want for anything…
Sharing time and laughter with friends….
The look in your mom and dad’s eyes that says “I’m so proud of you”…
Being greeted after a long day by your enthusiastic dog….
The serenity of the woods, surrounded by nature in all its beauty…
Feeling the sun and wind while you explore the roads on your motorcycle or in your convertible sports car…
The words written in a card or letter telling you how much you are loved….
Sharing your blessings by feeding someone who is hungry, clothing someone who is cold or visiting with someone who is lonely….

Where is it that you find true happiness? Is it tangible or simply an emotion? For me it's giving love and being loved, whether it is of self or others. So do we need to seek it or simply welcome it?  There are no right or wrong answers as to how we each define happiness.  It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality.  Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser and kinder each day.

Illusion or Real
November 21, 2006

On those clear, bright nights, when you can gaze upon millions of brilliant stars and believe the skies goes on forever.
“Be the ball” are your thoughts as you visualize the putt that sinks…
You’re in the height of labor, preparing for the birth of your child and picturing “your happy, serene place” and it helps you to calm….
You pause for a moment to pray, seeking guidance or expressing thanks and you feel a sense of peace…. You watch in amazement as Chris Angel performs, walking on water or disappearing in a flash of smoke…..
You follow your heart as in “The Field of Dreams” and let no one cast doubt on your belief …
A spiritual medium shares a message from beyond that brings you comfort….
If you truly believe, it shall come to pass through believing….

Is it an illusion or real?  There are no right or wrong answers, reason or motives as to why we believe what we do. It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality.  Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser each day.

Smoke and Mirrors
October 31, 2006

Why is it so many of us use “smoke and mirrors”?  Whether in our personal or professional lives, what is it that compels us to succumb to this tactic?
And even though there is a vast number of seminars, training programs, books and such that focus on teaching us how to see through all “the bull” or how to be better at using “the bull” -- body language, eye contact, voice tones, dress and attire -- we still for some reason think we can “beat the system”.
Is it because the world has become such a competitive place that those who conform are more easily accepted?
Is it that we all lead such intensely busy lives that unless your light shines obnoxiously bright you don’t stand a chance in being given the time of day?
Is it because acquiring “stuff ‘ and status is valued more than our integrity and values?
Is it that we’ve told “the bull” so many times that we actually believe it as truth ourselves?
Is it how we gain insight of someone’s character and core personality?
Or is it purely a protective shield we use to survive?

There are no right or wrong reasons, answers or motives as to why we do what we do.  It is simply who we are and our enjoying the freedoms of our individuality. Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser each day.
