Things that make you go hmmmm???? by Tina Marie Carr

Acts of Kindness...
August 7 , 2009

Can you spare 5 minutes in your day? In this brief pause, this one step, you begin a process of bringing about enduring change in yourself and all others.....

Take a few minutes today to sit quietly in a peaceful place.  Bring your thoughts to your breath; filling yourself with the life that surrounds you, breathing deeply from your abdomen, keeping it slow and rhythmic, settling into the peace. Take your thoughts to ones of expressing gratitude for the blessings in your life.

– Thank you God for the many divine blessings; for good health, happiness, abundance, prosperity and spirituality; for family and friends; for loving me. --

Speak whatever is brought to your thoughts and heart, keeping it from a place of love and gratitude as opposed to one of wants or needs. Now share the light of Spirit within you with others, expressing blessings.

– May every person in the world be blessed. May they be blessed with good health, happiness, abundance, prosperity and spirituality, May all my family and friends be blessed. Thank you for your divine blessings. Thank you in full faith. --

Now take your thoughts to Mother Earth.  Visualize the connection through the soles of you feet and base of your spine, grounding yourself into the earth.  Express blessings and gratitude.

– May Mother Earth be blessed.  May Mother Earth be revitalized and regenerated.  Thank you for blessing Mother Earth.

Closing your time of reflection with
– Thank you God for the many divine blessings. Thank you, thank you, thank you in full faith. --

In these short few minutes, you shared an act of kindness with yourself, others and the earth. The power of mindful intention and prayers are truly limitless....

How do you express gratitude? There are no right or wrong answers. Here's to us celebrating the freedoms of our individuality! May we trust in ourselves as children of God, grow from our experiences and become wiser, kinder, more grateful, more generous and loving each day.

Date Night ???
June 18 , 2008
How did you spend time together when you fell in love? How often did you go out when you were dating? It's time to start dating again....dating your spouse. Date night can work magic for your marriage.

There are some that say you need to get out of the house; no movies or entertainment that require you to face in the same direction; don't invite anyone else or attend a social function and schedule at least a couple of hours.

That's all cool. However, my husband and I love to cook. So our date night is sharing the prepping, cooking, lots of wonderful

conversation, a little music and a bottle of wine on the deck. Just the two of us, no TV, friends or family. It's perfect. Our gift to each other is the gift of time and undivided attention.

How do you spend date night? There are no right or wrong answers.  It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality. Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser and kinder each day.

True Wealth...
March 5 , 2009

Is it stacks of money, precious stones, gold or diamonds?
Or could it be the contagious laughter of a baby or the beautiful smile of a child?
Is it having a retirement fund, savings account or real estate?
Or could it be sharing time with special friends over a cup of coffee?
Is it owning a home and having a job that pays well?
Or could it be an encompassing, heartfelt embrace of a loved one?
Is it a sports car, label clothes or an original art piece?
Could it be simply time with family and friends?
Or is it simply love, happiness and spirituality?

How do you define true wealth? There are no right or wrong answers.  It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms

of our individuality. Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves as children of God, grow from our experiences and become wiser, kinder, more grateful, more generous and loving each day.

The Ancient Art of Natural Healing ...
December 2 , 2008
The act of laying hands on the human or animal body to comfort and relieve pain is as old as instinct. From kissing it to make it better, placing a hand on an ill child's forehead to an animal licking their wounds, the first thing most people or animals do when experiencing pains is to touch it.

.
When you search 'healing touch' or 'healing energy' on the internet, the results for each is nearly 1.5 million! There are many forms, styles, programs and processes taught and utilized throughout the world, with some dating back thousands of years. The ancient art of energy healing has evolved into a respected therapy process and is used in a wide variety of settings including hospitals, long term care facilities, private practices, hospices and spas.

As I shared in a previous newsletter, Reiki was my first energy healing experience and a life changing one, to say the least. First and foremost, my relationship with God was ignited. It's also where the first stones were laid in the path that led to my receiving the divine blessings of a Reiki Master.

What are your experiences with touch or energy therapy or healing? Does a kiss or a hug really make it better? Are we all blessed with the divine gift to heal ourselves? There are no right or wrong answers. It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality. All is good!

Here's to us as individuals! May we trust in ourselves as children of God, grow from our experiences and become wiser, kinder, more forgiving and loving each day.

How Did She Know ...
September 16 , 2008
I remember the day very clearly, even though it was a few years ago. With a weary spirit, I entered my office in the early morning, fired up my computer to check emails and decided to open one from my Sis first.... Her brief message was loving and supportive.  I clicked the link, ”You are the Light of the World" by Mary Robinson Reynolds appeared on the screen, the music started and as each message appeared the tears started to fall. (Good thing my door was closed!) Oh my goodness, how did she know???  It was the perfect message at the perfect time. My heart warmed with encouragement, love and gratitude.

.
So the next time someone pops into your thoughts, respond to the “nudge”.  You may call, visit or email at just the right time and say just the right words.

I hope you enjoy the movie….. www.lightmovie.com

Thank you Sis!!  I love you!!

Have you profoundly touched another's life, knowingly or unknowingly? Where have you found inspiration? A Journey of Divine Light & Love...
July 28, 2008
Are you blessed to have a friend whom you trust completely with your life?  I hope so, because that is an amazing blessing.

A few years ago, upon her return from Sedona, my friend said, “You’ve got to go with me this fall.  This is a place you just have to experience!”  She shared enough, but not too much, because it was very important to her that my experience be just that - mine. It was a Reiki massage in particular, which brought her such a sense of peace that had her so excited.  Without hesitation, I said, “I’m in!”

.
My friend is very gifted in the planning of trips so they are affordable and adventurous, as well as bringing together just the right mix of personalities.  It would be a trip for four women, with three of us knowing very little about each other.  I could hardly wait!

Within minutes of getting off the plane, we were hiking and rock climbing.  Did I mention she is awesome at getting people “outside their box” too?  It was exhilarating, beautiful and a little scary at times, however I loved every minute of it.  We wound down the day, sharing scrumptious fine foods, a little wine, candid conversation and lots of laughs.  What a spectacular day!

.
The second day there were more trails to blaze and rocks to climb.  It was also the day of my Reiki session.  Now you probably think that I’d do a little research prior to going, right?  Nope.  She said, “Trust me” and I did - completely. All I knew was it didn’t involve the massaging of muscles, only laying on of hands.  Wholeheartedly, I embraced the opportunity with an open mind and excited anticipation.

As soon as I met Pat, the Reiki Master, I was comfortable and at ease.  We chatted for a while about “me”, my past,

and hopes or dreams for the future.  She was insightful, kind and encouraging, yet frank and direct as well. It was easy to hear all the positive things, however, when the conversation turned to each of us accepting our role and responsibility for hurts in the past as well as the others involved, that was pretty tough for me to grasp at the moment.  Ah-ha - my first introduction to “the law of attraction”!  I can’t say it really sank in, but she definitely planted the seeds.  Although it was worth pondering, I tossed that part aside for the time being and kept my focus on new beginnings.

.
Moving to the massage table, I stretched out on my back and closed my eyes, relaxing into each breath.  Pat gently swept her hands above my body, from head to toe, clearing my aura.  Step by step, as the session proceeded, she suggested visuals to help guide me through the journey.  Imagining shackles as a symbol for the pains of the past, then shattering them and setting me free; breathing deeply and with every exhale seeing the darkness of hurtfulness leaving my body through every pore as black smoke, watching it dissipate into the sky; drawing the light in through the crown of my head, into my heart and down through my entire body.  There were times when she gently placed her hands on me and other times she held them just above me.  I was completely relaxed, as if floating. My body seemed boundary less.  But the most memorable moment was when she stood above my head, cradling it in her hands, and asked me to visualize myself in the arms of God.  I don’t know what came over me.  I began to weep.  I had never, ever felt as I did at that moment.  It was incredible.  Pat reminded me I am and was never alone; God was and is always with me.  With every breath, calmness returned.  Peace, hope and love filled me.  I felt so safe and alive.  It wasn’t over though.  As Pat skillfully transitioned the session toward its conclusion, she invited me to visualize myself growing wings.  Beautiful, full, white wings, expanding them outward, gathering in the light, then wrapping my wings around me, embracing me with the same love that God embraces me.

WOW!  There really are no words to describe how I was feeling.  Joining my friend who was anxiously waiting for me in the outer room, I smiled and wept saying “Thank you -Thank you for bringing me to Pat and Sedona.”  The three of us wept in joy together.  My life has changed in so many wonderful ways since I placed myself in the arms of God.

.
Although Reiki experiences are different for everyone, they are all, nonetheless, a journey of peace, love and prayer.  There are no right or wrong experiences.  It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality.  All is good!

Here’s to us as individuals.  May we trust in ourselves as children of God, grow from our experiences and become wiser, kinder, more forgiving and loving each day.

Every day choose to awake with a smile and feel loving gratitude for the glorious gift of a new beginning. Every day choose to be kinder, less judgmental and more forgiving, of yourself and all others.
Every day choose to shine the light of your spirit brightly and trust in its wisdom to guide you.
Although this may be a challenge on some days, it is nonetheless within your power….always.
Every day choose happiness.

What did you choose today?  How are your choices influenced by others choices?  And vise versa?  There are no right or wrong answers.  It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality. Meditation
July 30, 2007

Stepping away from the noisy locker room to seek a quiet place where you prepare your mind for the game. While in your favorite chair, where you briefly sit in silence each morning, breathing in the new day.
Momentarily pausing, bringing your thoughts to the photos of your family securely tucked into your helmet, pushing the sounds of gunfire that surround you from mind.
While being led in reflection at your place of worship.
Just before you enter the boardroom for your big presentation.

When at your child’s bedside, just after tucking them in for the night, as they lay peacefully at rest. Throughout your yoga class or during a therapeutic massage when your body is completely relaxed, feeling free of stress.
Is meditation a spiritual or religious thing?  According to “Merriam-Webster” to meditate is to engage in contemplation or reflection; to engage in mental exercise (as concentration on one’s breathing or repetition of a mantra) for the purpose of reaching a heightened level of spiritual awareness; to focus one’s thoughts on: reflect on or ponder over; to plan or project in the mind.

There are no right or wrong answers to how we each define meditation.  It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality. Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser and kinder each day.

It Is Yours…
April 11,2007

As you stand on the shore, Eyes closed, stance wide,
Arms open to welcome the unknown, Trying to steady your breathing
In anticipation of the wild wave swiftly approaching.
Give yourself to it. Completely and unconditionally.
No boundaries.  No restraints.
Feel its freedom. Feel its spirit.
For with it’s whoosh….it also bring peace, calm and love.
It is yours. Yours to hold. Yours to revel within.
No boundaries.  No restraints.
All you have to do is have faith and trust it…

What is your “wild wave”.  Or is it a who?  Or a where?  There are no right or wrong answers.  It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality. Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser and kinder each day.

True Happiness????????
January 25, 2007

The embrace of someone you love…
Winning the game or being in “First Place”…
With prayerful words and spiritual reflection in that quiet place…
Having enough money that you do not have to want for anything…
Sharing time and laughter with friends….
The look in your mom and dad’s eyes that says “I’m so proud of you”…
Being greeted after a long day by your enthusiastic dog….
The serenity of the woods, surrounded by nature in all its beauty…
Feeling the sun and wind while you explore the roads on your motorcycle or in your convertible sports car…
The words written in a card or letter telling you how much you are loved….
Sharing your blessings by feeding someone who is hungry, clothing someone who is cold or visiting with someone who is lonely….

Where is it that you find true happiness? Is it tangible or simply an emotion? For me it's giving love and being loved, whether it is of self or others. So do we need to seek it or simply welcome it?  There are no right or wrong answers as to how we each define happiness.  It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality.  Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser and kinder each day.

Illusion or Real
November 21, 2006

On those clear, bright nights, when you can gaze upon millions of brilliant stars and believe the skies goes on forever.
“Be the ball” are your thoughts as you visualize the putt that sinks…
You’re in the height of labor, preparing for the birth of your child and picturing “your happy, serene place” and it helps you to calm….
You pause for a moment to pray, seeking guidance or expressing thanks and you feel a sense of peace…. You watch in amazement as Chris Angel performs, walking on water or disappearing in a flash of smoke…..
You follow your heart as in “The Field of Dreams” and let no one cast doubt on your belief …
A spiritual medium shares a message from beyond that brings you comfort….
If you truly believe, it shall come to pass through believing….

Is it an illusion or real?  There are no right or wrong answers, reason or motives as to why we believe what we do. It is simply who we are, embracing the freedoms of our individuality.  Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser each day.

Smoke and Mirrors
October 31, 2006

Why is it so many of us use “smoke and mirrors”?  Whether in our personal or professional lives, what is it that compels us to succumb to this tactic?
And even though there is a vast number of seminars, training programs, books and such that focus on teaching us how to see through all “the bull” or how to be better at using “the bull” -- body language, eye contact, voice tones, dress and attire -- we still for some reason think we can “beat the system”.
Is it because the world has become such a competitive place that those who conform are more easily accepted?
Is it that we all lead such intensely busy lives that unless your light shines obnoxiously bright you don’t stand a chance in being given the time of day?
Is it because acquiring “stuff ‘ and status is valued more than our integrity and values?
Is it that we’ve told “the bull” so many times that we actually believe it as truth ourselves?
Is it how we gain insight of someone’s character and core personality?
Or is it purely a protective shield we use to survive?

There are no right or wrong reasons, answers or motives as to why we do what we do.  It is simply who we are and our enjoying the freedoms of our individuality. Here’s to us as individuals!  May we trust in ourselves, grow from our experiences and become wiser each day.
